Shu Ren's First In Person Lunar New Year in 3 years a success!

What a fantastic night we had celebrating Lunar New Year with our community! The first time we have had this large of an in person event in 3 years, and it was a success to say the least! Not only did we welcome a few hundred families to enjoy some amazing dumplings and noodles from Pure Spice, but we also had nearly the entire 8th grade MIP class participating as well. The 8th grade did a tremendous amount of the prep work and running of the event, supported by a core group of parent volunteers, and bolstered by quite a few other volunteers from both Hosford Middle School and Cleveland High School. In addition to dumplings and noodles, We had 8th graders as MC's for our stage performances. The Chinese Choir and Wushu classes performed, as well as Russel and Yilin Scheinberg performing a Chinese poem and storytelling, and ZiLong George performing some Chinese Yo Yo tricks.

We are grateful to all of the volunteers who brought this event to life, and to all of the families who attended. Events like this are only possible with the support of volunteers, please get in touch with the board if you would like to help out with next year's Lunar New Year Celebration!
