Get Involved & Volunteer

Parent volunteers are the life blood of Shu Ren and are essential for continued support and success of the Mandarin Immersion program (MIP)! There are a variety of ways to get involved and show your support! All MIP parents are asked to pledge 15 hours of volunteer service each year per student.

About Shu Ren Fundraisers

Shu Ren holds a lot of different fundraisers through out the year.  T-Shirt sales, the Dumpling Festival, the annual Gala and so on. The Mandarin Immersion Program can only benefit from parents willingness to donate and/or get involved to make these events happen.

The Annual Auction Event is one of the largest fundraisers Shu Ren puts on every year. Lots of volunteers make this event more fun for everyone as the load is spread out. It is also a great opportunity to socialize and get to know more parents in the program. You can jump in with both feet or even just offer to help sell tickets at the front of the school once or twice. Everything is helpful and it is wonderful to know you were a part of it.

About Being a Chaperon or Classroom Volunteer

Parents and family members interested in volunteering in PPS classrooms or chaperoning field trips need to fill out a volunteer form and pass a criminal history check. The form may be downloaded here with the link below and turned into the main office of the school you want to volunteer at. Check with schools to verify fees, typically $5 processing fee (Shu Ren and the PTA typically reimburse this fee when they volunteer).
