Donate to the 2011 CRR

This spring our 8th grade studens will travel to Suzhou, China for two weeks.  We are very excited to finally meet our goal of going to China and using the language we have studied for nine years.  This trip, known as the China Research Residency, is part of a yearlong Mandarin language course called Enduring and Emerging China.  While in China we will stay with families from our sister-school, LiDa Middle School, and engage in field studies that will navigate us throughout Suzhou and neighboring cities including Shanghai.

Each student will complete a research project while in Suzhou and report their  findings that will culminate in the capstone presentation upon our return.  This is truly an opportunity of a lifetime.

As you can imagine such an endeavor takes a large financial commitment.  Shu Ren of Portland is contributing a large amount of money raised through various fund raising events including the annual Gala, and Dumpling Festival; Portland Public Schools is contributing by off-setting some administrative costs.
